I Spy for my grand niece's 4th birthday.
This was loads of fun. I can't take credit for the design, my daughter organized the squares. I first sewed the quilt with the light center including a red boarder and then piano keys with more I spy fabrics. Then I had this large tent that my daughter suggested using more I spy fabrics to create the back. So, this is my first quilt that is really two pieced quilts in one. Chloe and her family are big time campers so I love what I thought would be the back but may end up being the front. I free motion quilted most of it. I put Chloe's name on one of the blocks for her to find. The borders were straight stitched. And I still have more 5 inch blocks to make another I Spy. I think this is my sixth quilt, using I spy fabrics. Two were wonky blocks, 2 were disappearing 4 patches, one had black polka dot and white fabrics crossing much like an Irish chain. . Thanks for looking. Oh, and it was glue basted and I used a mattress pad for the batting for the first time. It is going to be a warm quilt.
