Just thought I'd mention how very cool and fun the easy dresden tool is. Last night when hubby had the kids at ball practice, I thought for once I was just going to sit down and sew something fun. Picked out some fun fabric from my scraps, and put together a dresden plate block (wanted to try one like forever!). It was SO easy, and I truly enjoyed the process. I still need to applique it, but wanted to say how easy it was. I'm thinking of doing a whole quilt now, with nice big 'blank' blocks in between for some nice handquilting. Now I have to remember how to applique (haven't done it for so long!).

p.s. btw, I used the 4 1/2" mark on the tool & a 13" block for this little project.

Well, I wanted to share. If you have one of these in your closet, I encourage you to give it a try!

I used mine to make my queen sized Dresden Plate quilt. It really is pretty simple to use. I used charm squares and set them on 16 inch blocks.

There must be something in the air ---- I've had the tool for a couple of years and didn't use it, either. Just last night I started playing with it. You're right, it's a lot of fun and really burns through the scraps.

Yes, I agree it really is an easy way to make Dresden's. I have one and use it anytime I want even a quarter circle for fans and such. Thanks for the testimonial.

I got the tool recently, but haven't played with it yet! Someone on here did a mini xmas wreath last year, & I loved it, so I bought the tool when I finally found it. Love the colors in yours, will definitely have to do some soon! Post more when you do some other blocks to go with it, nice!

Am curious? How do you figure out the center when doing these various sizes, or, does the info that comes with the ruler tell you? Just wondering....
