So I'm already thinking christmas. And the plan was to have 5 quilts done, 3 as gifts, 1 for me, and hand quilt one for my mom. Well, I decided I'd start with me today, I was in the mood for the colors, and I sat down at my mom's sewing machine, and it wouldn't work. The needle wouldn't go down. I told my mom and she said she didn't have time to get it fixed and didn't know when it would be done.

So new plan, the one for me is on hold, I can still hand quilt, and instead of 3 quilts as gifts, I'll do 3 tree skirts as gifts. So I made 2 kits from my own designs, and cut them all out and took pictures so I'd remember how they go together.

I need another pattern though, something with easy to hand sew pieces. The first one has 6 1/2 inch pieces and the second 4 inch pieces. I wouldn't like to go any smaller than that, and I'm running out of reds and greens. Does anybody have any ideas?? Oh, and I don't really like cutting a whole out of the center. As you can see, I just left 1 block out.

This one I'm going to call 9 Patch Variation or something like that

And this one is going to be Around the Christmas Tree

Most people are rushing to get things done. So much goes on that time of year, you are not early, just right
