Default I've been PPing for 2 days!

Yep, I finally decided to paper piece. It took me 2 days to do these blocks. Lots of errors, but definitely going into a quilt someday. Actually I'm really proud of myself. Can't wait until tomorrow.

I think the blocks are very nice. You'll get better at matching the seams as you go. The colors are really good. I like brights.

I agree with Barb in Louisiana...you'll get better at matching as time goes on. They are great blocks. And if you're doing all of this with no 'hands on' instruction - kudos to you! I couldn't figure out the whole pp'ing thing without a physical class! But it is the hot tip for 'perfection'.

Good for you! I am in love with your second block. The stripe fabric is adorable!

You must have had two fantastic days. I love paper piecing small intricate patterns. What a great job you did points and all.

Thanks guys. Today I'll try to repair some of my mistakes, but no guarantees! There's one spot on the blue block that I tried to correct 4 times. I refuse to take that apart again, 4 is my limit. Tearing off the paper wasn't bad, but would have gone better with a lighter weight paper.

On to day 3!

I don't care much for doing paper piecing, but that was my first class and first quilt. I remember hearing somewhere that if you have trouble removing the paper, put the block in a plastic zip lock bag and mist it with water. Let it set a few minutes for the paper to pull in the moisture and then it will come right off. Another tip is to set your stitch length lots smaller. Hope this helps. Looks like you are doing fine. What is the name of the red block? Its my favorite! Jan

Really nice! I want to give it a try. The quilt I'm doing now would have been better if it was paper pieced. It's all 60 degree triangles.
