When we moved here, there were lots of chipmunks and we got two little Jack Russel terriers. They are the answer! Just now,my husband shot a coon out of a tree and they enjoyed taking over. They are never aggressive to children, just love to hunt critters!

I love peonies so much and can't get them to stay around, so I 'saved' the picture of yours to put as my computer backdrop.

Your hostas are huge! I think our weather may be too hot here. Your raised beds are so neat....and weedless!!! How do you find time to make quilts and garden? Great job on the garden. thanks for sharing.

We don't have the amount of heat and humidity that you have and also I have lots of shaded areas to work in where hostas thrive. The size of a hosta depends on the variety. The secret to weed-free beds is mulch! If you can find cheap mulch, you are done weeding once it is down. And that allows me time to quilt!
