My first quilt finished for 2011! The quilt is 85" x 85", using 6 1/2" paper foundation string blocks and a 5" border of scrappy dresdans.

Whoa!! That is the coolest variation of a Card Trick I've ever seen! Very awesome! :)

Oh Man, I LOVE that one! Card tricks is one of my favorites and that center just POPS out at ya!! Very nice job, love the borders, too. You all make these look so easy.
A question from a newbie.... Why would you use a paper foundation, is it just to help you stabilize the block or like paper piecing make the seams most accurate? hope that's not a dumb question....

Wow this looks awesome!! What a great way to use up smaller pieces of fabric, and it really gives the eye a treat. Thanks so much for sharing it!!
