Long story short..Katie came into our lives when she was 12 years old. She and her older sister are our only grandchildren even though they are our son's step-daughters. She and sister came 500 miles last summer to "quilt". Katie picked out the fabric, pattern, and made ½ the blocks. I finished the quilt, sent it to the longarm quilter, and made the pillow cases. Her mother's parents have recently passed away and she wanted their names in opposite corners. It is finished and ready for graduation on the 15th. Thanks for looking:) I gave away the quilting magazine the pattern was in but it is a simple square with 2 borders around each square using 4 different fabrics.

Lovely job, and very sweet of you to help them remember their "other" grandparents. This will hopefully infect them with a life long case of quilting fever.
And how lucky they are to find such a marvelous other Grandma!
My two girls had the same luck with step dad's sweet Portuguese Mom who gathered them under her wings with all her other grand kids.

What a lovely quilt, and a lovely way to help honor Katie's other grandparents! Katie is very blessed to have you for a grandma. I hope she enjoyed helping with her quilt and will want to continue making quilts.
