My DGD was recently in a Ballet recital called Snow White and the Seven Giants. So I found a panel from Snow White that I wanted to do something out of for her. The original plan was to make a dance bag but the center panel was TOO TALL for an adult, never mind an 8 year old.

So I started playing around with fabrics to make her a lap quilt out of it. Of course I have to "build" the sides and top to fit the center panel. Right now I am trying to decide what to use for the "sashing" pieces to bring it all together.

I have included a few choices that I have on hand, but I do have others that might work as well. So, any ideas? Dark green? Burgundy? Another pink? Combination of them with Flying Geese? I'm stumped.....

    What I have so far

White might work as well, but whatever you do it's going to be a treasure. I really like what you have so far.

I hadn't thought of using white. That might be a really good choice. Hmmmmmm, need to go check my stash.

I don't know why but I really like the burgundy. It is a nice contrast to the lighter colors. It is already beautiful and will be a special reminder of the time the two of you spent together during the recital. I look forward to seeing the finished product.

What about a thin first sash of that lovely green, a slightly wider one of pink and then white?
I personally believe that flying geese will detract from the blocks. The blocks seem to work quite well with the scenes. I love that, please show us the final quilt.

I may play with that on the design wall as soon as I find some white that doesn't have snowflakes on it! Or snowmen!! Where is my tone on tone?
