Red face Labor of Love #2 - 3D floating cubes

I posted my first labor of love (Walking Labyrinth -http://www.quiltingboard.com/pictures-f5/walking-labyrinth-truly-labor-love-t219581.html) lat month and yesterday finished the quilt for younger son (age 21). This quilt took some time as I could not find the right black fabric. I did not like Kona as it frays a lot and I wanted a little texture to the fabric. Though you cannot tell it is black with hints of navy blue and I must say in the sunlight it is lovely!

I love the 3D affect of both patterns and have to say this one was FUN! And surprisingly NOT hard to make. I think the hardest part was selecting the right color combinations and mapping it out on paper so it went together smoothly. I am making a duvet cover out of this one too (CA King). I am not sure what LAQ design I will have done.

Thanks for looking!

I love both of your labors of love! It's really hard to imagine that they were not incredibly hard to make.

Very nice! It does look like it was a fun quilt to make! I think the background fabric was a great choice and makes the blocks really stand out.
