I've had this design in my head since last year....... and finally got it put together.
I didn't follow any type of pattern, just started with the size I wanted the background to be and went from there.

This will be a wallhanging. Right now it measures 36.5"x51"

Liberty and eagle are both applique. The rest is pieced.
The word block are pre-printed panels I purchased at the AQS in Des Moines.
I also thought of detailing the eagle but since Liberty isn't detailed I thought it would look better if I leave it simple.

Thinking of adding a small red border then bind in navy blue...?
what does everyone think.....

Inspirational ~ I admire your ability to design this. I would definitely need a pattern. TFS.

Looking at the second picture it looks like it's framed in a rust colored fabric, which I find really striking - it doesn't take away from any of the other colors but accentuates them all at the same time. Whatever you decide to do in finishing out your quilt, in my book it's a winner. You did an amazing job and it's one I would make an effort to purchase the pattern for and i don't purchase patterns I make my own.

Love this wall hanging, is Lady Liberty applique or painted on?
