Default Landscape Quilt - from Illinois, to Jamaica, to the UK

I started this quilt in February and finished and delivered it to the happy couple in Jamaica in October. They they then took it to their home in Bradford Yorkshire UK.

The first two pictures show the quilt in progress, the remainder are finished. The last is the happy couple and me on the beach on the wedding day. It was a gorgeous wedding.

This is all my own design. All batiks (except for the muslin used as a foundation to build the landscape on). Raw edge applique. Raw edges overlapped and were sewn down with clear poly. The trunk and the palm fronds were first drawn on paper, the fabric then sewn to the paper - pulled paper off and transferred to quilt top. Quilting is all FMQ even the footprints, and the grasses at the bottom of the tree's are all thread painted. Border is pieced. Backing is Northcott Stonehenge.

The intertwined palms is the logo of the resort where they got married (Couples).

Thanks for looking.

Sue

That's a wonderful wedding gift. The fabric you used for the trunks of the palms is just perfect. Outstanding.
