I'm impressed!! Not just with the beautiful quilt, but with your friendship with your friend! You must have done a lot of letter writing and phone calling to have been friends for so long and not have seen each other!

Isn't it wonderful to have a long term best friend...it's like having an extra sister only not related. Good for you and your special sister/friend.

When I was 5 we moved into a neighborhood with kids my age. Two were girls and we played dress up together, built tents and slept out, had parades, just had such fun together....here it is, 58 years later and the 3 of us are still great friends. One I see only about every few years but we keep in touch by e-mail. The other one has been a major part of my life since age 5. When she went to Europe for a year she sent me ledgers of her travels. When I traveled with my Navy husband we sent ledgers of our travels. We get together at least a couple times a year and she is almost as special as my siblings. I can't imagine life without her. She knows my history, I know hers and she's just my unrelated sister. Friendships are too special not to nurture and hold on to.
