Default Lap Quilt/Wall Hanging

I finished this last night, it's a Christmas gift for my Aunt. I will let her decide if she wants to use it as a lap quilt or a large wall hanging. This was my first time doing stitch in the ditch with my walking foot and the first time I did a complete machine sewn binding (no hand sewing, yay!). Lot's of imperfections, practice makes perfect and I can't wait to do more. I had a lot more fun doing it this way than tying it and hand sewing the binding.

I love the colors you chose. She is going to love it. If it were mine I would snuggle under it. Thanks for sharing.
BTW welcome to the board. You will learn lots from the wonderful quilters here.

that is so very pretty! i love the colors you have; stitch in the ditch isn't as easy as it sounded like but i think im finally starting to get the hang of it but i sure can't keep that invisible thread in my machine! it wont hook up with the bobbin thread at all! it will be treasured, it is beautiful!

If she doesn't like it PLEASE send it my way. The colors are fabulous. You did a nice job. BTW to me stitch in the ditch is much harder than FMQ. I guess that's why I've never tried. Your aunt will love it.

Rick -

Welcome to the board - it's good to see another man join. Your quilt looks great, and yes, practice makes perfect. We are ALL still learning. My wife and I machine sew all our bindings - I can't imagine how long it would take us to do anything by hand.

Merry Christmas,

Darren
