I had bought some white blocks at a yard sale that was just a little thicker than normal. I put them back and saved them for just the right project. They fit right into my printer. So I scanned the pictures and printed them out. They were all wonderful old photo's of when my daddy and his brothers and sisters were all young. There was only one recent photo that was in color. The rest were in black and white. Then I had a family picture of them altogether with a little story of where each one of the kids were born as my grandparents moved a couple of times. It was real interesting because it told how my grandpa rented a boxcar to carry their possessions on one trip and on another how they all traveled in wagons. It was pretty neat. I told my sister that she should treat the photo's with some bubble jet spray just in case. But I think the ink will be colorfast. I think it is going to hang instead of be on a bed so washing will be minimum. Thanks for the interst. This was a neat project and I recommend it for nastalgia's sake.

Well, Shemjo, my sister fishes all over the United States. She has even been to New York to fish in tournaments there. She was Bass-N- Gal Angler of the year two years in a row and now fishes in the Women's BASS Tours. Her husband is pro also so between the two of them they cross paths sometimes. She has won about 4 fully rigged bass boats. Me? I perfer pond fishing. I'm not much of a traveling woman. I am a stay at home gal. I get panicky when I get out of my territory. But she is a real trooper. They do yard sales and auctions along the way too so they bring home some interesting things. We live in SW Arkansas so a trip to the big apple is something.

Weste, I used the double irish chain pattern. In the light colored center blocks I machine appliqued the pictures on. Also, at the bottom of each picture I appliqued their names and their childrens names. Like Charlie married Anna Marie Children: Lisa, Sam etc. If you don't have the double irish chain pattern I will be glad to p.m. you with it or send it to you in mail or e-mail. However you are most comfortable with. It is really a very easy pattern and so easy to quilt. You can put anything in the blocks. I just scanned pictures on my computer and printed out the things I wanted on each block then appliqued them on. So simple. That is the most inexpensive way. The other way ios to take your pictures and blocks to a copy place and they will put them on for you but it cost from 2 to 4 dollars a block.Let me know if you need the pattern.
