When this picture opened, I sucked all the air out of the room! It's spectacular! WOW! Wish I could see it in person. Please tell us the story behind it; you did a beautiful job.

In birder's language, "LBB" means "little brown bird" and refers to one of any number of species of well, frankly, rather drab and dull appearance (think "McDonald's birds). So that was what I was expecting to see - a quilt covered with sparrows, possibly with a legend on it to identify each one.

Boy, what a surprise this was! What an amazing, beautiful quilt - is it all hand-embroidered? It must have taken years to do all that handwork. I can't see anything wrong with the corners - what do you have to re-do?

I hope you don't lose it again. That quilt is a treasure!

Thanks for all the lovely comments! The quilt Little Brown Bird was a pleasure to work on, and I don't remember exactly how long it took me to get to this stage, however I believe it was upwards of many months. I took the quilt to a friends sister and left it with her. She said knew a lady whom would sandwich it and do the top stitching, and she would pick it up in the meantime, that particular lady sold her home, and wouldn't work on it, until she had another home - her husband is a building contractor, therefore, my quilt stayed at my friends sisters place. I had decided I would get the quilt back from my friends sister, to rework the corners, and those other areas on the quilt I wasn't happy with.....that is when no one could locate the quilt.....I was very upset as no one could find my quilt - it was just a couple of days ago, it was located in my friends' sisters Garage - I had made a pillow slip for this quilt, and she thought it was an old duvet and didn't look in the pillow case, she called me and let me know that she still had it - what a relief, I no longer have the pattern, or book, so I couldn't make another even if I wanted to. Tomorrow she is bringing the quilt to me. My quilt is hand appliqued, and each square is made up from 4 squares. Needs to be hand quilted, so will be attempt to do it myself, once I have redone those issues that are bothering me.
    after I do the alterations.
