Default Opinions and suggestions on this baby quilt layout

I want to make just a drag around quilt for my little man that is due in May. I want to put a small red border and then add these charm pack squares around it. Does this look ok, should I maybe use another border color....do the squares look good? or should I just add a border and not the squares?
Thanks for any suggestions.

I like your idea very much. The blocks are fine and the border with the charm packs make it so colorful. Such a happy quilt, your little man will spend a lot of time learning his animals with it.

I think the colors shown in the above photo compliment the quilt wonderfully. Good points raised above though...

Just a thought, try auditioning placing the red border in the middle of the charm pack squares. Then I perhaps would remove the red charm squares.

Cute, cute, cute but I think I would take the black out, seems a bit harsh. All of the other colors are great though.
