Default Little House on the Prairie Puff Pillow

One by one I am finishing the Little House on the Prairie ensemble (see my doll quilt and twin bed quilt already posted). This is a "puff" or "biscuit" pillow made with the same fabrics as the quilts.

Bottom squares are 4" and top squares are 5". The pillow fits a 16" pillow form. The back is flat and quilted in two pieces with 3 snaps. I filled my biscuits a bit too much I decided in retrospect -- this is while I was struggling to sew the top unit onto the back. I think the pillow would look just as nice with not quite so much filling in each square.

It's gorgeous! Great job! I'm sure a little less puffiness would've been easier for you to get the pillow form inside!
But it looks great and so comfy.

Very pretty. I have made about 10 or 11 biscuit quilts. I learned after the first less stuffing is better. So much easier to sew the rows together. I would have used just stuffing and not a form. Just my observation.

Yes, less stuffing is definitely better.

My technique is to sew all of the rows together before stuffing. Then I cut a small slit on the back side of each one and stuff each of them. Then I take a few hand stitches in each one. It might be more time consuming, but for me it beats wrestling with those stuffed rows. The only difficult part is sewing the back piece of the pillow onto the completed biscuit side.

When I say pillow form, I mean a pre-stuffed pillow. With an opening in the back of my biscuit pillow, I can remove the inner pillow and wash each separately or replace if necessary in the future. I usually make those inner pillows myself, but have found some pre-made ones at estate sales of crafters.

It's been fun to see all three of your coordinated pieces. Love them all, and the pattern was one I jotted down for my bucket list
