Okay all, my son is on the quilting bandwagon. He wanted to make a quilt for his granny, so he chose some lovely basketball fabric for one side, and flowers (brown...leave it to a boy) for the other! We made it sandwich style so we don't have to do a border. Here's a few photos. It was hysterical! He was in his football gear to start - can ya beat that? THen I got him to change so he could be more comfortable at the table. Oooh, I looooove this little guy. What a doll!

Of course Granny will love a brown floral/basketball quilt. That being said, you might want to give him some gift giving tips before he hits the girl friend stage. He sounds as if he is in danger of buying an electric skillet for an anniversary gift some day!!

Something tells me that this will be Grandma's favorite quilt!

How refreshing -- a "manly young man" who isn't afraid to touch the sewing machine. I think it's great that all you ladies can get your sons involved in this. Even my daughter (adult now) never wanted to sew. Of course, now her excuse is that I would never teach her. Right (LOL) -- she never took time to sit down and learn! But I love her anyway!!

There he is .... the next Ricky Timms ... LOL! It sure would be cute to include the pictures with the quilt. He is such a handsome child, too!
I know you must be proud of him.

Oh, I just love it!!!!! Basketballs and brown flowers. You know, Granny has got to absolutely adore it -- there will be no doubt that her grandson picked out the fabric, and that will make it that much more special. You have two incredibly good looking children! He's gonna be a knock-out. Wow, what a smile he's got!!!

I think it's so neat that you're teaching him how to sew.

thank you all for your kind words. Yes, I'm incredibly proud of my boy - he's all boy, but then again, he's as sweet as they come, well-mannered and a great kid. He's soft, yet loves to play sports, knows all the different sports teams, scores, and all! He also gets into costume and plays different sports or things around the house! He's very independent, and totally dependent at the same time (ask me if he can wipe his own bottom yet??!!...eeewwww).

    :)
