This wall hanging won third place in our local quilt show and 1st place at the county fair. It turned my hair gray and kept my tear ducts open! But I am very happy with the results.

Beautiful!! Someday I hope to do a lone star, either a large one like this or a quilt full of smaller lone stars. Sounds like you may have had some difficult moments, any tips for us? Thanks for sharing.

That's really gorgeous! The Lone Star is also on my list of Want-to-Do's. The most recent Quilted Paradise e-newsletter has great instructions for making triangles. I printed it out to keep.

This wasn't made with triangles. I think it would have been so much easier if it had. I have several star patterns using the half triangles that I want to try. I can tell you for sure that I would never make another one this way.

Well, all the 'pain and suffering' you went through, it has to have been well worth it, and I'm not in the least surprised that it won 1st and 3rd in the contests! Simply beautiful.
