Longarmed wholecloth part 2 half way there
I was overwhelmed by all the nice comments on my first sneak peek of "Creme Brulee" posted here http://www.quiltingboard.com/picture...e-t183485.html
I am longarming this quilt for a friend who pieced this.
I want to thank all of you for your wonderful encouragement and kind words. Some of you posted an interest in seeing my progression. I got sick as a dog on Friday and couldn't quilt at all until today. I am on the mend now but boy did this spring cold really knock me for a loop. Anyways, I managed to get almost to the half way point today and wanted to share what I have done. As always I welcome your comments, input, and constructive criticism.
For those interested in the technique, this is longarmed on an Innova 26". There are two layers of batting, a layer of bamboo on the bottom and Hobbs Poly down on the top. I am quilting it with Glide thread in top and bobbin. The main motifs are designs by Karen McTavish that I enlarged and marked the quilt with a water soluble "Mark-B-Gone" blue pen. I used an overhead projector to enlarge and mark the design. Cross hatching is done with a small ruler and is a 1" grid. The background fill is McTavishing. I have been longarming for about a year and a half. This is my 17th quilt.
