Stopped at St Vincent DePaul store yesterday on the way home & got this 4 yard piece for $1. New fabric with USA flags. It's not pretty by itself but I have a red, white & blue top I pieced together last year that once I put the blocks together I didn't like. This will be perfect to use as sashing around them (once I separate them-a car trip project).

Very good deal. It seems that cotton fabric is getting harder to find at the thrift stores...and the prices are usually too high when I do find any.

I don't find good deals like this often. I was actually on the lookout for flannel sheets to use as batting. Just finished a baby quilt for a niece using flannel as batting & it quilted so nicely but stayed so soft & a perfect "draggy" quilt for baby girl

great find! Here , lately, I've found plenty of cotton at the thrift store, but it is priced higher than normal price at LQS!!
