It takes a peculiar brain! And some thinking time. The most important thing is to adjust the sizes of the pieces as they finish, and then work backwards to add the seam allowances. It also helps to have extra fabric, so you can have lots of do-overs. I puzzled over this one for awhile before I figured out how to do it.

If you want to stick your toe into mini-land, try the Doll Quilt Swap here on QB. Sign ups are on now for the March swap. It is lots of fun, very few rules, and a good way to make direct contact with other mini-ers.

Wow - beautiful mini. I am intrigued by the doll swap. Thanks for all the great info on downsizing a regular size. I had no idea where to even begin.

I'm not very good at figuring out what initials stand for, some I get but can't get AAQI. Please send information.
Thanks.

I'm glad that you asked!! That's the Alzheimer's Art Quilt Initiative. You can find it at www.alzquilts.org. They gather donated little quilts (max size 9" by 12") and sell them on the Web and at the big show in Houston every November. The money raised goes to fund research on Alzheimer's. It was started by Ami Simms, in MI, a quilter whose Mother had Alzheimer's. It is all volunteer run, very low overhead, and it is great fun to look at all the quilts that are for sale. There are quite a few on QB who make quilts for AAQI.
