I've never made one of these before, but I found a kit at my LQS and I loved these fabrics!

This store has a longarm machine, and you can take a lesson to learn how to quilt it yourself. After you've had the lesson, you can rent the machine by the hour. Is this actually something I could accomplish in one lesson?

Your quilt is stunning. Have no idea about the quilting and the LA. Saw a lady at a LQS doing just that - had taken some lessons and was free motioning her quilt. Looked like fun! Good luck.

My LQS has the same deal with the long arm machine!!!! Struggled with stitch in the ditch on my machine until I learned of this place. Your quilt is lovely!!!!

Oh, wow, Harmony. That's just beautiful! I wish my favorite LQS did that kind of thing with the longarms.

We have a LQS that does the same thing and I have friends who have taken the leap and have done their own quilting! The major problem is remembering to put the presser foot down so you don't have a rats nest underneath. One gal spent most of her time unstitching underneath!
Go for it! What is the worst thing that can happen!

Love the pattern, the fabrics and the colors.
I practice my free-form quilting with paper and pencil first. I find it helps me to get the flow going and the design down in my head.
Make a practice sandwich to bring with you. You could make one out of old sheets and left over batting. Also bring the design that you want to use to quilt with. Then you can use that for your first lesson. That should help you decide whether you can do it or not.
