my mom remarried and she found this in the closet of her husbands home
she thought i might like to put the binding on it and have it for my "collection".
Here are some of the appliques close up.. someone put alot of work into this.

this is going across a calif. king size beds width.. just to give you an idea of it's size

Her new husband didn't know any of the history of the quilt ? It is a work of art - can't wait to see how you finish it :mrgreen:

Sharon.. he didn't know if his deceased wife did it or his sister... that's a man for ya..
she also gave me a featherweight case.. I wonder where the machine is... I think the daughter took it not knowing there was a case..

I don't know what to do with it because it has the already quilted backing on it..so if i were to quilt around anything it would not look good with that backing... i have never had one like this before...lol

I reconize the embroidery designs ....I have the same ones...they came with my first Brother sewing/emb machine...and it did take a lot of time a love from the person that made it...!!!! I love to make emb. quilts...especially for children using a theme...enjoy and congrats !!!!
