A few weeks back, I took a quick class at a LQS to learn to machine applique. We made a flower in class. A few days back I arranged a few blocks around the flower, added border and quilted it. It measures about 8x20 and I added a sleeve to the back to hang it. I like it.

Thanks for looking.

I like it too! And I love the way you double quilted the diamonds - very effective.

What she said, espcially the double quilted grid! Very cute. So for machine applique did you use the blind hem stitch? That is the one that takes like 3 straight stitches then a single zig zag to catch the applique then straight then another zig zag?

Thanks, I loved quilting this one.
Yes, I used the blind hem stitch with invisible thread for the top and the bobbin and a size 6 needle. The edges are also turned under. It is a lot of fun, I can't wait to try applique on other projects, I already have many in mind, but unfortunately, a day only has 24 hours.
