Here is my log cabin table topper. I made it for a niece and nephew for a hostess gift. We are going to their house this weekend.

The pattern is available free from All People Quilt.com

I just noticed that my table topper looks kind of wonky in the picture. It really isn't wonky, but it did kind of curl up slightly after I did the machine stitch in the ditch quilting.

Would more quilting make it lie flatter? Or would more quilting make it curl up even more?

Any other suggestions?

I think more quilting will help it lay flatter..but you did a great job!

Love it...it also would be a really nice wall hanging when not in use.

I would block it. Put a towel on the floor (over a carpet). Pin the quilt down on it, angling the pins outwards, so that you can put it under a little bit of pressure, stretching it outwards gently. Make sure you pin it so that it's square (do that by measuring diagnally and making both the same). Pin all the corners down, and put a few along the straight edges. Spray it all with cold water, so that it's damp (not soaking wet), and leave to dry overnight. If you have pets, then shut the door to keep them out for the night. When dry, you can remove the pins and it will be flat, with no curly corners.
