I want to go through my quilt magazines and take out only the directions and pictures of quilts and or hints of things I want to keep and get rid of the rest of the magazine. How do others store thier things they are saving? Baggies? folders? notebooks? Is there a way to scan them into your computer? Thanks Diane C.

I use a 3 ring binder and buy the cheapest (thin) plastic sheet covers. I use cheap plastic tabs for index. Seems to work really great for me.

If your printer has scanning capabilities, scan them. Follow the directions for your printer. I usually copy them and store in notebooks with labels ie. patchwork, applique, foundation piecing, tips, etc. Most magazines have their name and issue info at the bottom of the pages so you always know where you found it and can give credit where due.

thats what i do- i make a copy of the mag page just in case i need to find it again.. but all gets color copied, put in sheet protectors that i bought in bulk at Costco in three ring binders that i bought at the thrift store for ten cents..

This is what I do too. I used a REALLY BIG 3-ring binder.

I have folders marked Tip's, Quilts to do soon and types of patterns stars, holiday, fall and so on. I also have a folding file box that I keen ones I like but cant get to anytime soon.

Be careful I was going to this and a friend suggested I wait and after awhile I went looking through my magazines and my favorites had changed.

That is what I am doing too. Today I bought three very large 3 ring binders in a thrift store. The covers will need to have something interesting put on them. I have the sheet covers and will have to get some tabs. Will that ever make lots of room in my magazine area!!! (Room to buy more magazines?)

Yes they can be scanned and saved in a folder on your PC and maybe saved some other way too. I have all my patterns, pics from mags, any info stored in 3 ring binders with clear sleeves. It works well for me.
