What about a piano key border ? that way none of the blocks wash out on the border with planning .

Love the quilt

Maliyah is a lucky girl! How old is she? I'd suggest something rather plain since the pattern is more busy. Love it!

What about applying the backing pillowcase-style, turn to the right side, and topstitch all around?

Maliyah will hopefully be making her apearance by Christmas, my niece's due date is 12/23

thanks for the compliments and the suggestions...I'll have to look into the pillow case style i"m not familier with that. I do have several strips left over that I could do the keyboard also

Pretty quilt. I like the piano-key idea for the border.

When I say "pillowcase" I mean placing the front of the quilt right side to the right side of the backing, then place the batting under to form a sandwich. Stitch all around leaving an opening to turn the quilt right side out. I topstitch about 1/2 to 3/4 inch all around. (Oh, and close the opening with handstitching. Have I confused you?
