well, sort of.

My father in law asked me yesterday to make a quilt for his mother, who was recently placed in a home and is having a little bit of trouble adjusting.
She now has a single bed, and her old bedding does not fit in the new room. Her room at her house was in blues and greens, and I was asked to come up with a design that had a mariner's compass in the colours that she had before, to make her feel more comfortable. Anyway, so I started this morning, and I have the center done.
I am basing the rest of the quilt sort of on this design:

and this is what I have so far, I just thought I would share my progress as I go along.

Your Mariners Compass is beautiful. The pattern is also beautiful. Can't wait to see it finished. She is going to love it.

Yes, it's paper pieced (even though my seams don't match up that well, don't look too close!). I have a Mariner's compass book, and they show you how to draft your patterns for pp.

Thanks everyone for the compliments. I'm taking a bit of a break right now because I have a headache, but I'll be jumping back into it as soon as this Tylenol kicks in :)
