McFr♥sty ... the Scottish Snowman!! :)
Look what I found out in my snowy flowerbeds before Christmas!
Being all dressed up with a tartan fleece hat and scarf,
What else could I do, but give him a Scottish moniker?

So I brought him inside, working quickly to get some pics, before he had a major meltdown!!
At 25"x45" he fits nicely on a door, or makes for a narrow wall hanging.
Extra poly batting was set in place to give the snowbank more puff!
The fabric is silver on white, with silver metallic stitching for the quilting
Here's a better view, hanging on my design wall.

What else could I use for the FMQ but some snowballs?
His snowflake buttons are fussy cut hexies from the border fabric, then hand appliqued in place.

Nose and eyes were machine appliqued with a double blanket stitch.
The glint/white in his eyes is hand embroidered with regular floss.
I sewed on small buttons for McF's smile, and some gold metallic yarn gave him some hair!
*tip* once trimmed his hair was molting ... some hair spray was needed.
So Best Press to the rescue ... worked perfectly!!!

This was a commission, so he no longer lives with me.
... and yes, I am already making plans for my very own new and improved Fr♥sty!
You might think he looks a little familiar ... Here's his brother which was a Christmas gift last year!

I'd told a friend the problem and they said to get some hairspray out.
I said, oh no, I would be worried it might react and stain.
Then, there was that "aha moment"!
Plus ... instead of the hair flopping, I was able to get it to perk out, just like a real "do" with hairspray!
