Every year, I spend some time between Memorial Day and 4th of July making at least one patriotic quilt to send to a local veterans groups, AmericanHeros.com (they in a Washington State). Thought it would be fitting to share some with you today.

A big thank you to all the real heros out there!

Really simple applique

First English Paper Piecing ever done. That's a lot of work!

This was one of the first ones I ever made

This was the most difficult one I ever made

Those are beautiful, what a nice thing to do. Do they give them to Veterans or to soldiers who are serving now?

They give them to the wounded soldiers in the local Army hospital shortly after they arrive.

You send them the completed tops, backing, and binding and they have volunteer longarmers who finish them.

They are beautiful. What a kind and loving thing to do. I can only imagine the comfort they must bring.
