Thread: Microwave Fabric Bowls

Never thought about using them for ice cream. DUH!! I guess it made too much sense. I'm always getting a couple of napkins or paper towels to go under the bowl.

Thank you so much Rita. I was wanting to try this but fear them catching fire or scorching. So I will give it a whirl. It could make a nice Christmas gift along with a hot pad and some towels. Love your idea.

Just wanted to clear up the copyright issue. The intent of the copyright statement is for the pattern itself - not the technique. If people figure how to do these on their own - no problem. If someone else writes a pattern for these that's alright - assuming of course it is their way of writing vs just copying mine.

This is a common statement that most authors who write eTutorials and sell them - whether on ETSY or on another online venue - add to their patterns. Since it is so easy for electronic files to be shared these days, authors do try to discourage blatant copying and sharing. Unfortunately there are a few sellers on ETSY and other online venues who do take advantage of the work of others and make it their own.

For those of you who do craft fairs, these have been great sellers for me!

Oh, and one more thing, please, please use the special Microwave Warm & Natural Tater Batting that is glue and resin free - don't want to start fires in the microwave with these. I have that the best price is Fabric.com. And don't make them so large that they touch the walls of the microwave (scorching or fires again could happen). I also only make the smaller ones as I'm concerned about leaving the larger ones in the microwave for longer periods of time - again its the scorching/fire thing. So I'm overly cautious that way.

I've made several of these and we us them all the time. I use them in the microwave and also use them to hold cold things, its like having a mini placemat. Love them.
