After loosing the refrigerator items due to a Power Surge Thursday morning, had to run to the store Friday after the Fridge was fixed. I do not know about anybody else, but I always stop and look at the Magazines. Found a new issue that I had to get. Fons&Porter's Quilting Celebrations Fall/Winter 2011. Lots of nice things for the Holidays coming up. :D

In there was a pattern for Mug Mats or Mug Rugs. Never made one before but had to try this one. I used all scraps that I had on hand and did the quilting trying to use my walking foot as the guide. Need more practice on this when doing curves ;)

All in all, I like the outcome of my Minty Mug Mat. I think there will be more in my future accompanied with a cup and a packet of Mint Hot Chocolate for some of my kids teachers for Christmas this year

Bonus, the bottom does not look that bad either. I think it would have been better with red as the bottom but did not have a scrap big enough.

I LOVE peppermints so this is cute, and I don't care for Mug Rugs! I may have to make me one of these. Thanks

That is pretty cool. You did a good job on piecing and quilting it.
