When my mom passed away last year I inherited most of what was in her sewing room, including over 100 different blocks. She so loved the blocks she made for her quilt guild that she made two of each, one to turn in and one to keep for herself. When I am missing her, I like to get them all out and look them over. Maybe you would like to see them too.

I love them all - what a great collection she left you.

That is a very special collection, and legacy. Will you make quilts from them some day, or just leave them as blocks? Thanks for sharing those.

Awwhh what lovely keepsakes....I was thinking the same as Karla, will you just keep them or make them into quilts, what was your Mom going to do with them??

Your mom was so talented. I'm sure she is thrilled you treasure her beloved blocks. What a wonderful way to remember your mom.

It's so wonderful that you have those. Have you ever considered putting them together in a quilt? You could embroider things she used to say on it and then you could wrap yourself in memories.

Of course the best part is that it's all up to you, and whatever you do with the blocks will be exactly right, even if it means you put them away again.

i'd find a way to have them always on display. if not in a quilt ... maybe framed and scattered on walls throughout the house.

That is really neat that you want to share a memory of you mom with us. That tells me how much you love her and how special, to you, her quilting was. Thank you so much for sharing. I only hope to do half as much as she has.
