Default Missouri Star Double Slice Layer Cake Quilt

I wanted to try out the Double Slice Layer Cake tutorial that I saw on Missouri Star's a short time ago. I thought it would be good to test out on a small scale first to see if I liked it before making a larger quilt. I thought I would like to have some baby quilts on hand and also some to donate, so this turns out to be a perfect option for that.

I cut the 10" blocks from my stash in pinks, greens & yellows to test it out. The blocks finish up at 9". I added a 3" border. It is a very quick and easy quilt pattern. I love it! I've already mentally imagined it with other fabrics in my stash. If you are looking for a quick and easy pattern to try, give this a shot!

Missouri Star Quilt Company is a good source for different patterns and information. I use them a lot. You have a wonderful stash. This is just a perfect quilt to throw over your shoulders when you need just a little something on those early fall nights.

I want to do this in Black and Red for my son's Christmas gift. He got the first one I made 20 years ago, and he wants another now that he is grown up.
