Default mistakes abound

Last year I taught my sister how to make half-square triangles, and we experimented with arranging them into different patterns. She was hooked, and now is making all sorts of small quilts and table toppers. She bought this kit to make for herself, but upon looking over the instructions, she panicked and decided to send the kit to me. It's just a modified log cabin and was simple to do once all the strips were cut.

I was hoping to add some applique in the border, but the border is so busy it probably wouldn't be beneficial. Of course, only after it was completely assembled, I noticed a couple of mistakes. Isn't that the way it always goes?

The pattern is Kaye England's "Sliced Bread"

did you know in Amish quilts if they go together (too perfectly) they will on purpose change something- turn a piece make an adjustment= because 'Only God can create perfection.'
we can only strive for perfection-not actually achieve it-
no one looking at your quilt would ever know there was a mistake- only you know it is not exactly like you planned it to be.

Lovely! Who could look for mistakes when there are so many beautiful blocks and colors to see!

What type of applique were you thinking of adding?

Don't worry about mistakes. They are learning experiences
