Default Mixed Media Heritage Quilt

I have been working on something new...at least new for me...using mixed media materials in some wall quilts. This particular one was a commission piece for a client and with her permission I am sharing this with all of you! I had her email me pictures and give me a detailed list of likes and information. She even sent me a couple of spoons, a piece of wicker from a bassinet and some cherished fabrics...it was quite a challenge to put everything together, but I like how it turned out. I hope you enjoy...

Your client certainly made the right choice when she entrusted her treasures to you. You have done a phenomenal job of putting everything together. I like how each item is it's own "showpiece", and yet all blends together as a cohesive unit. Congratulations on a job well done!!!

Neat project! Lots of mementos, and great textural additions. Heirloom for sure!

Wonderul fabric collage! I like how you used the old lace, ribbons and buttons to make a flag.
Did you try out the cookie recipe? The quilt will be cherished.

Thank you everyone for your kind comments...I haven't tried the cookie recipe yet, but kept a copy for my recipe file. It is a gift for the mother of my client...she and her siblings are giving it as a gift to their mom for Mother's Day. I won't know for another month if the recipient will like it, but I sure hope she will?
