Every year on this day I think back and reflect on who my mom was, shed many tears, and wish we'd gotten to know each other as adults, instead of parent/child. She's been gone for 7 years today, taken away from us by breast cancer.

My quilt lives on the back of my sewing chair for when I get cold in here; I see it all the time, and it reminds me where and who I come from.

These two quilts were made for me and my brother (though Mom didn't get the chance to finish them, my aunt finished them for us). He has requested I hold onto his until he's more stable and mature... has a home of his own, and isn't afraid of the quilt being damaged or destroyed.

I wish I had these fabrics to incorporate into my own scrap quilts...

These were both long-arm quilted with dragonflies, as my mom loved them, and I have taken on not only her passionfor quilting, but her passion for dragonflies as well - they're all over my house (and one on my back) now!

The quilts are absolutely beautiful!!! I lost my Mom four years ago, so I know what you are going through. How wonderful that you have the quilt to remind you of her love.

Those are gorgeous! I'm sorry to hear of your loss. I'm blessed mine survived hers.

Those are beautiful quilts. So sorry to hear your Mother. I had a Grandmother (similar situation) and she taught me to quilt and I have one of her only quilts. I think it is my most prized possession's.

What an amazing remembrance your mother left of herself for you and your brother. They are so beautiful, how proud you must be!

Wrapping up in that quilt must feel like being wrapped in her hugs. They are beautiful.
