The left side looks like a range of mountains, and the bottom moon is the color of the eclipse the other morning. I was just looking at that pattern the other day in an old lap quilting book.

It is an old pattern. After I decided the size of the blocks, the moon is a plate of the scale I liked, and the mountain is a quarter triangle appliqued onto the block. Real easy!

Lovely quilt Norah, I missed this the other day  still betta late than never. I love that you used both sides of the fabric, very frugal of you, reminds me of our forebears :P . I would never of thought of appliqueing the triangle over the circle, very clever. I was looking at it thinking how do you piece that, You'd need to cut a wedge out of a circle and then...... you get the idea :P

BTW love the pup in your new avatar, is he yours? :-)
