Default My 12 Year Old Neice made this

Last Christmas I bought my neice a couple layer cakes and and jelly roll hoping she would get into quilting. She was excited and put this together all by herself and tied with buttons. She then gave it back to me asking me to put the binding on. To my disapointment she also said she didnt ever want to do that again.. I finished the binding today. She did a nice job on matching all her corners and I think it turned out really cute.
I hope someday she will decide she wants to try again.

She did a wonderful job on her quilt. Perhaps when she gets older she will take up quilting again.

what a treasure. you'll have to see that it's saved through the years and maybe she'll want to try again seeing her first project,.

Preteens and teens are a lot like politicians - they are famous for changing their minds. Tell her how impressed you are with her work and that she finished the project. (Most of us still struggle with that one!) Then smile and let her try other things.

Remember you introduced her to a hobby. If later in life, she returns to it, then take that as a compliment. If later in life, she ventures in other directions, compliment her and her accomplishments.
