Here's a machine I picked up last week and the saga of our relationship http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-139697-1.htm It started off on the wrong foot, for sure. But, I'm becoming attached. I replaced the rubber feet today and am still awaiting my bobbin case I bought via ebay.... It's a 301A with a few deep paint scratches. Can't wait to get the bobbin case and test it out.

Candace, get Testor's paint (like for model airplanes) at Michael's or other hobby shop to touch up the scratches. It works great! You'll love your 301a....I love mine!! :-)

Very nice. I have a 503A which I bought back in 1964. Love the machine. Let us know when you have yours up and running.

Janice, good tip thanks! Do you happen to know if there's a paint # that folks use for this color that matches really well? Black would probably be easier to match. I wouldn't want to make the gouges even uglier with a bad touch up. Thanks!

You might have to mix your own to get that pinky beige color.

I love my Singer 301a, it is the best for stitching straight seams! Hope you come to love yours as much as I do mine.
