My Antique Quilts
#1
Thought I would share a few pics of some old quilts that belonged to my husbands grandmother and my grandmother. The best I can figure out, the first two were made around 1910-1915. The other two around the 1930's. They were made with flour sacks, and on one of them you can partially read the company name, logo,Louisville Ky., and part of a recipe. They are in bad shape so they don't get handled much. They all look like scrappy's to me except the one with what looks like a friendship star variation.

OMG - that is wonderful. My grandmothers both quilted too - I remember the big quilt frame and the stories of quilting bees - unfortunately I lost both grandmas years ago - I have a few quilts but those were in their later years when the hands and eyes weren't so good - but I treasure them just the same.
