My Asian Bargello WIP

I love the Asian fabrics and the colours. I think the quilting should be very subtle, maybe fans, all over and keep your dragon and Koi fish for a plainer pieced quilt. Your ideas are very creative and whatever you decide to do will be beautiful.

You've managed to pull it off thus far, the quilt is beautiful! Someone once said to me as a new mother- listen to all the advise given but in the end it's your baby! Can't wait to see which way you go with this.

Japanese Koi tattoo.
I also have a Japanese Red Fire dragon tat...yes, I do. (get wonderful compliments on it from all ages and backgrounds)
LOVE the quilt and the colors, like others, can't wait to see it finished

Have you considered adding a wide enough red or other solid color border so you can hand quilt the designs around the border? Would it enhance the quilt top or take away from the Bargello design? Your hand-quilting effort would be visible on both sides of the quilt - antique gold metallic type quilting thread is a thought - I know this type of thread is available for machine quilters, but not sure if it can be used for hand-quilting. Just a thought.....
