Default My aunt's bookcase quilt

Hi
With some help from several of you last spring, when I was looking for selvages/fabric with writing, I've finally finished my aunt's bookcase quilt just in time for Christmas. She loves books, plants, birdwatching and her kitties, all of which are represented. My thanks to those of you who contributed fabrics with writing -- I got a wonderful selection, and except for the "set" of books in one shelf, all others are unique.

The kitties are actual photos of her cats, and the plant on the top right is 3-D. The braided rug was hand-braided during my commute to work.

It's not perfect, but I really like it (and it's done, just in time for Christmas!).

Thank you! It was so much fun trying things out and coming up with ideas for different ways to use the bits of birds etc that I had....and the board members were so helpful when I needed scraps. I think I like the designing and dreaming better than the execution, but I love the results in the end.

I have a library shelf quilt with plain books. You have given me ideas on how to jazz them up a little.
Love this quilt. Thanks for the inspiration!!!
