I've had several comments on my avatar and a request to post a larger picture, so here goes. The cream border is the Preamble to the Constitution. The silhouettes are a panel. I just kindof made this up as I went, no pattern. I did just get it quilted. It was for my youngest son's graduation from Army Basic and Military Police Training.

That is beautiful! What an awesome quilt for your son's graduation. Does he know what he wants to do next?

I love it. That's the kind of thing that just gets me. We 'forget' to remember. Speaking for myself, only... of course.

Actually, I was just reading up in a retro sewing book...about how during WWII, women were recruited into sewing guilds/shops/groups... and encouraged to come together to sew blankets, uniforms, quilts and things for the soldiers. Makes me wonder if anyone is doing something similar.

Our church has a box party, where we pack boxes of goodies, toiletrees, snacks, and letters for the soldiers of a troup we support in Afganistan. But sewing? ??? hum.
