Here is a picture of the chenille rug I made yesterday. Was lots of fun and am looking forward to making more.

Looks so cozy and it feels so soft on your feet.

I've never worked with chenille. Is it difficult to keep lines straight?

Not at all as I made them. I bought a pattern and you layer 5 pieces then sew lines using a walking foot the width of the foot. Then you cut thru the top three layers. Was really easy and fun.

OK, I'm alittle slow, still getting thru my first Pepsi of the day--- .

So you sew 5 layers together? And cut thru 3? I'm lost. Sorry.

    Cajunquilter2,

did you just use regular cotton fabric for your rug?

Will you put some type of anti skid material under it so it doesn't slide and if so what will use?

Yes, you have what they call the bottom and base layer which you put warm and natural in between. Bottom layer face down, base layer face up. Then put 3 layers face up on top of that. Cut the bottom/base layer w/warm and natural an inch larger on each side so that you can distinguish between it and the top 3 layers you cut thru to make the chenille part. i used the same fabric for all 5 fabric layers but you can use different ones if you like.

Love it--like the way the birds still show even after the cutting.
