Looks like a whole lot of more work, but if you love HAND WORK, this is perfect. Good luck and i hope you have hours of fun working on the rest of this quilt. It is stunning so far. What colour background?

I did one the old fashioned way 25 yrs ago 4 my SIL when she married!! Hand quilted also!! She tells me she still has it and it is in excellent condition! Who knows when she retires and moves back home I may get to post it!

That is going to be lovely when finished. I don't think I could ever do that, appliqued or otherwise! I'd get so confused!

Congrats to you, I too gave up on the DWR last yr., But continue to look at different patterns and might just try one before my GC start getting married, hopefully acouple of yrs.

Wow, that certainly looks less complicated than the original way. I am just finishing the binding on one and I will never do one the traditional way again. Too much work.
