Aren't cousins helpful?! It's a nice cheery quilt and fish can go any way they want. As one person said, with the fish going more than one way, you can view it from either direction. You didn't make a mistake at all, that was the way you intended it all along :-) Make a joke to your friend about what your cousin said and then tell her you intended the fish to be just like they are so that the quilt would look good from all angles.

Upside down means that there are two top edges and two bottom edges. No right way up/down!
