Default My DGD's big girl bed quilt "Dora"

My younest DGD is in her new bed and needed a quilt. Dora Explorer is her favorite character. My DDIL asked for a warm backing so I chose fleece. What an experience!! As I was getting down towards the lower end the harp was full and I had to really work hard to get the rest of the quilt quilted. I have to make the multi-colored binding and sew it on. The label is embroidered and pinned in place. Luckily I added some extra fleece to the bottom, otherwise I would have run short Thanks for looking. I improvised on this block and the border. Didn't follow a pattern.

Beautiful quilt for a Dora fan! She'll have so much fun with all those Doras ... and with the soft back she can wrap up in it and feel the love that went into making it.

I'm so glad I opened your posting as I almost didn't - thinking that a quilt featuring a cartoon character wouldn't be my "thing". I'm so glad I did! Your quilt isn't cartoony at all - the color combinations are wonderful and the pattern features Dora, but it still looks like I could have it on my own bed. Your DGD is so lucky and she'll love it for years to come.

Helen T. This is one of the best quilts that I have seen for a child. I LOVE this quilt and I will soon be 72. Your talent is super. The colors, the blocks and the border are great. You all put my tiny efforts to shame. You really did GOOD grandma. BrendaK
