    Default My Disappearing Hourglass

I just finished piecing my first disappearing hourglass. Far from perfect. However, I learned lots of new do and do nots, so next time I should do a better job.

My biggest area that needed improving was in the area of the small triangles on the corners, so (to me) they stick out like sore thumbs. Some are smaller then others, so the square they make is really wonky!

I used a layer cake and Kona cotton. When I make one in the future I will not be using a layer cake. I don't like to be held hostage to a specific number of 'color' blocks. If I have the fabric then if I mess up (as I did on this one) I can always cut a new block.

It will probably be a while before I finish this project and when I do it will be kept in my home - so I can remember all those do and do nots!

I think it's wonderful - you're only seeing the flaws and we're all seeing the whole top. It will look even better when it's quilted - just you wait and see!
